Description
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for servicing ambulances, support vehicles, specialized equipment, and ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.
Essential Functions:
- Work on both diesel and gasoline-powered ambulances and support vehicles.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Conduct engine, transmission, brake system, and tire service repairs.
- Maintain service records and documentation for all fleet repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Pick up and deliver vehicles requiring service or repair.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on ambulance gurneys and related equipment.
- Utilize lifts, including two-post and drive-on lifts, for vehicle servicing.
- Use diagnostic equipment, transmission flush machines, and air conditioning evacuation tools.
- Operate pneumatic tools, grinders, drills, and other specialized equipment.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of vehicle maintenance and repair experience.
- Experience with diesel and gasoline engine repairs.
- Familiarity with ambulance-specific modifications and equipment preferred.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools to repair computerized vehicle systems.
- A/C, hydraulics, and automotive electrical system repair experience a plus.
- A driving record that meets company policy regarding insurability.
HOURLY RANGE: $34.00 – $44.00
