Description
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for servicing ambulances, support vehicles, specialized equipment, and ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work on both diesel and gasoline-powered ambulances and support vehicles.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct engine, transmission, brake system, and tire service repairs.
  • Maintain service records and documentation for all fleet repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Pick up and deliver vehicles requiring service or repair.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on ambulance gurneys and related equipment.
  • Utilize lifts, including two-post and drive-on lifts, for vehicle servicing.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, transmission flush machines, and air conditioning evacuation tools.
  • Operate pneumatic tools, grinders, drills, and other specialized equipment.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of vehicle maintenance and repair experience.
  • Experience with diesel and gasoline engine repairs.
  • Familiarity with ambulance-specific modifications and equipment preferred.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools to repair computerized vehicle systems.
  • A/C, hydraulics, and automotive electrical system repair experience a plus.
  • A driving record that meets company policy regarding insurability.

HOURLY RANGE: $34.00 – $44.00
